Biography

Preeti Kana Sikder has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Law in Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) since January 2023. After graduating from the Department of Law, University of Dhaka, Ms. Sikder also completed her LLM from the same university. She was a co-founder and Managing Editor at Dhaka Law Review (DHLR). Later on she pursued her Masters in Environmental Science and Management from BUP in order to incorporate scientific understanding of environmental laws in her research and teaching. 

Right before joining the department, she was serving as an Assistant Professor of the Department of Law & Justice, Jahangirnagar University (JU) where she held a permanent post since 2016. During her six-years-long service period at JU she worked as the founding advisor of the JULS Writing Club. She was also a part of the editorial board of Jahangirnagar University Journal of Law, besides working as coach and co-advisor of JULS Mooting and Debating Club. Prior to that she was employed as a Lecturer of Law at University of Asia Pacific (UAP) and also worked as a Legal Research Assistant at Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA).
